One-day Workshop
Santa Cruz Mountains, CA

Saturday, October 16, 2010
10am until 4pm

In this class we experiment with new ways of playing with your journal. We will teach our latest collage techniques including blender pen transfers, wax resist, spackle texturing, acrylic paints for the cover, watercolor rubber stamping, tape transfer, and more! This time we will learn all of these techniques with an altered book as our background.

If you have a book you would like to alter, be sure it is a hardbound book with a strong binding. You can start by painting the outside of the book with gesso, or you may use one of our books brought for you. You might want to bring some photos, scraps of memorabilia, etc. that you'd like to make into a particular theme pages in your book.

We'll have all sorts of things to play with: old magazines, lots of scraps of wall paper, tissue paper, pens, watercolors, stamps, various mediums, crayons – lots of things to add texture to your pages. There will be lots of time to create and explore…

Class will be held in the Santa Cruz Mountains, California at Skyland Church in Whittaker Hall and is located at 25100 Skyland Road, Los Gatos, CA 95033 (directions)

Cost: $125.00, includes all materials. Bring a lunch. Limit 20 students. Register Online

We will have final instruction on Sunday morning, including time to complete pages in your journal and share with the class. Check out is on Sunday at noon.
